Typical reasons for a Body Lift
As a result of ageing processes, the skin and the subcutaneous layers become increasingly slack, to varying degrees depending on the individual. The skin often reacts to radical diets with a strong and too fast weight loss by losing its elasticity.
Lack of movement and insufficiently developed body muscles intensify this effect. In addition, ageing and the associated restrictions in movement additionally reduce the muscle mass. Liposuction is not possible in such cases because the skin cannot shrink sufficiently due to the lack of elasticity. Plastic surgery with a Body Lift can help here.
The excess skin including the associated subcutaneous tissue is surgically removed in the affected regions. However, in the marginal areas and in the case of remaining fat deposits, liposuction performed at the same time as the lift can also be helpful to improve the body contour.

If the slackening of the skin and the subcutaneous layers is very pronounced, the excess tissue can only be tightened again by means of surgical skin lifting. The main reasons for this procedure are massive weight reduction or in the case of tissue slackening after several pregnancies.
The aim of a complete Body Lift is not only to tighten the skin and subcutaneous tissue, but also to achieve a simultaneous waist shaping of the body silhouette. The sunken tissue is also lifted and repositioned within the scope of a body lift. If a Body Lift is performed, several problem areas can usually be corrected in one surgery.
When correcting your body shape, there are also limits set by your skin: Skin elasticity and the condition of the connective tissue! We will discuss the results of an operative tightening procedure together with you. In this way, we achieve an optimal result for you.
Which risks does a Body Lift have?
Basically, we thoroughly measure the excessive and slack skin and fatty tissue before the procedure. We then draw the necessary surgical incisions exactly and ensure that the incisions are as small and inconspicuous as possible during the surgical procedure.
Normal side effects of every operation are bleeding, bruising and pain, which can be prevented by administering painkillers. Rarely do clots form in the blood vessels after an operation. This can be prevented with compression stockings and medication.
In general, surgery is associated with a higher risk for patients with diabetes mellitus, lung, heart and circulatory disease, patients with other pre-existing conditions such as allergies, rheumatic diseases or a tendency to infectious diseases and blood coagulation disorders. Obesity, smoking and taking so-called hormone tablets, such as the contraceptive pill, also increase the probability of the occurrence of thromboses and embolisms.
Which narcosis is used?
During a body lift you will be put under general anaesthesia, so that you will sleep during the entire operation. For this purpose, you will be examined by an anaesthesiologist before the operation to clarify your suitability for anaesthesia. Any individual concerns or fears will be cleared up in the associated anaesthetic consultation. The anaesthesiologist is present during the entire operation and controls the narcosis.

2 Vorbereitung auf Behandlung
Sie sollten sich in einer möglichst guten gesamtgesundheitlichen Verfassung befinden. Bitte schränken Sie Nikotin- und Alkoholkonsum auf ein Minimum ein. Es ist ratsam, für die Zeit nach der Prozedur, je nach der angewendeten Methode, bis zu vier Wochen einzuplanen.
Der Blutverlust bei einem Bodylift entspricht dem Standard eines operativen Eingriffs. Eine Bluttransfusion ist normalerweise nicht notwendig. Auf Wunsch kann jedoch eine Eigenblutspende durchgeführt werden.
Die Einnahme hormonhaltiger Medikamente (Antibabypille, Hormonersatzpräparate) ist gegebenenfalls vorübergehend einzustellen. Auf keinen Fall dürfen Sie Aspirin oder acetylsalicylsäurehaltige Medikamente mindestens 14 Tage vor dem Eingriff zu sich nehmen.
3 Ablauf der Operation
Der Umfang eines Bodylifts hängt stark von Ihren Wünschen, den körperlichen Gegebenheiten und den technischen Möglichkeiten ab. Mit dem Bodylift ist eine Rundum-Korrektur der Körpersilhouette durchführbar. Im Normalfall lassen sich bei einer Hautstraffung am Körper mehrere Problemzonen in einem Eingriff korrigieren.
Die für die Operation erforderlichen Schnitte werden so gelegt, dass sie durch den Slip oder Badeanzug verdeckt werden können. Wird mit dem operativen Eingriff eine Rundum-Korrektur angestrebt, kann das Bodylift mit einer Fettabsaugung im Oberschenkelbereich und auch mit Korrekturen an den Oberarmen kombiniert werden. Diese Kombinationen können mit Nabelneuformung, Gesäßlift, Oberschenkelstraffung sowie mit einer Fettgewebeabsaugung einhergehen.
Bodylift kombiniert mehrere Verfahren zur Hautstraffung. Zuerst werden in Bauchlage die Gesäß- und äußere Oberschenkelregion gestrafft. Dann erfolgt die Drehung in Rückenlage. In dieser wird der Bauch sowie die Oberschenkelinnenseiten korrigiert. Der genaue Ablauf erfolgt individuell und entspricht dem Ergebnis des vorangegangenen Gespräches.
What should be considered after the procedure?
Directly after the surgery
After the surgery, special bandages/compression bandages or bodices and a special abdominal belt for compression are fitted and worn for six weeks. A few weeks must be expected for complete healing of the extensive wound areas in various parts of the body.
Restrictions & recommendations
Sports activities can only be resumed after the healing process is complete (after about six to eight weeks). Incapacity to work can last up to four weeks.
Where does the treatment take place?
The actual procedure takes between four and six hours. For a body lift, a hospital stay of five to seven days is usually expected.
Is the result permanent?
A Body Lift generally improves the entire body silhouette over the long term. In principle, the more stable the body weight after the operation, the greater the chances of a lasting result.
The costs
The effective costs of a body lift depend on the type and extent of the respective procedure and can only be determined during a consultation and medical examination. In most cases, the costs of the procedure must be borne by the patient.
In some cases, such as after extreme weight loss, skin damage in the groin due to sweating in the skin folds or mechanical irritation of the skin on clothing, the costs of a skin lift are covered by both statutory and private health insurance companies.
